Anonymous – Clear WiMax and Clearwire Internet Review

Let me first say I must be an idiot for signing up with Clearwire in the first place. A 2 year contract should have tipped off my idiot sensors, but no.

So I couldnt get good service for the majority of my 7 months so far, so I decide as suggested by Clear, to put an ad out on CraigsList.com for someone to take it over.  Well, I meet the woman and give her the modem to try it. I told her to call me if she didn’t want the modem, or to call Clear to set up her new account (and then they call you to confirm) as I planned on canceling the crappy service anyway.

So 25 days go by without a response. Well guess what, she dropped off the face of the earth and now I’m stuck paying the $100 dollar non refundable “equipment” fee for the modem on top of the $180 bucks to break the contract.

So my advice is:
1. Dont be an idiot like me
2. DO NOT GET CLEAR
3. DONT GO POSTAL
4. If you plan to have someone you do not know take your modem to try out in order to take over the account, get there DL number, and any  info you can before giving the thing to them at all costs, or you could (I say could) get scammed by the rude evil devils and end up paying Clear for the crappy modem. Clear will not survive unless they get rid of the contracts, good people are telling the public whats going on with them and letting them know about the scams they pull.
